Questions to Ask Your Photographer


jhd photography answers questions that brides should be asking when interviewing their prospective photographer -

1. How many years of experience do you have as a photographer? over 8 years

2. What percentage of your business is dedicated to weddings? 95%!

3. Aproximately, how many weddings have you photographed? 125+

4. Are you the person who will be photographing my wedding? YES!

5. Will you bring an assistant? If you choose to have a second - it is addtl.

6. How do you typically dress for weddings? in black

7. Do you have a professional studio? Yes - in my home

8. What type of equipment do you use? Nikon / Fuji digital cameras

9. Do you bring backup equipment? Yes - lots of it - usually more than I need

10. Do you have liability insurance? Yes - State Farm

11. Will you visit the cermony and/or reception sites prio to the wedding? Yes

12. Can you take studio portraits? Yes

13. Can you retouch images? Yes - I do all my own retouching.

14. Can the images be purchased? Yes

15. What does it cost to hold our wedding date? $100 deposit plus sign a wedding photography contract

16. What is your payment/cancellation policy? Payment is due in full no later than 14 days prior to the wedding - I accept cash, checks, and credit card payments. In the event of a cancellation, the deposit is non-refundable.

17. Do you use proofs? Not for the wedding- only for the engagement (4x6 photographs are provided) I offer a Preview Book which is a spiral-bound book that contains the images 4-6 to a page laid out in a chronological format.

18. How do you store my digital files? The original images are stored on a dvd in a fireproof/waterproof cabinet.

19. What are your prices? Packages start at $1500 - please contact me for a full price list.
